  16. Hi Kubi,

    Thanks for being in touch.

I will most certainly share this message with the members of the Black Women in Europe and Women of the African Diasora social networks I run.

Swedes have a reputation for being hard to befriend. Like anyplace life her is what you make of it.

  19. Hello Adrienne. My name Is Marcus Ferguson and I currently attend SFSU. I am planning on studying abroad In Uppsala Sweden for a year starting fall of 2012. I was told that this website Is a good source for information and assistance while living In europe (  additional financial aid, job information, a place to stay, ex). Any information and/or advise would be much helpful. Thanks
     -Marcus

  20. Hi Marcus, I think it is GREAT that you be doing a semester at Uppsala.

    Here are some tips:

    1. Join the American Club of Sweden. There is a Facebook group you may be able to join without being a full fledged member, or ask about a student membership fee.

    2. Join the Black Expat page on Facebook. And check out Black Expat, there is a Scandinavian issue.

    3. If you’re a Democrat, join Democrats Abroad Sweden. There is an Uppsala chapter:
    http://www.DemocratsAbroad.org

You don’t want to miss out on voting which you will be able to do via absentee ballot.

    4. Check out the Stockholm Expat blog. Even though you’ll be in Uppsala some info will be relevant.

    5. Check out UrbanLife.se. The brother who runs that site is from the UK but lives in Uppsala. You should contact him for info.

Keep me posted on your move!

    My email is contact@blackwomenineurope.com.

  21. Hello! I am moving to London in four months for business.  I am a single mother of three ( twins in elementary and one in middle school).  I am doing my research but any and all information on good neighborhoods and schools would be greatly appreciated!!!!

  22. I suggest getting your company to hire a relocation expert for you so that you can list your requirements and desires and they can scout suitable locations for you.

  23. Thanks for the information, I actually work for myself (which I probably should’ve stated previously). I was just wandering if anyone living in the area had any neighborhood/school suggestions or the names of good real estate firms.

  32. Hi,

I am writing to ask if you’d be interested in selling banner ads (or ads in other form if you have other ideas) on blackwomenineurope.com.

I would like to advertise our website: https://altruisto.com which is a landing page for a browser extension so that its users can collect money for effective, research-backed charities while shopping online (with no extra costs for them). For every $4.85 raised for Against Malaria Foundation two people are protected from malaria (via bed nets) and for every $1.19 raised for Schistosomiasis Control Initiative one child gets cured from parasites. It works with over 1000 shops including eBay, Aliexpress, Etsy, Microsoft.

You can see an example of our ad on slatestarcodex.com

    What do you think?

    Best,
    Daniel
