In October each year, Black History Month is marked in some European countries to celebrate and highlight the lives and achievements of Black people throughout history and in the present. It is also a month of discussion, reflection, and campaigns that bring challenges faced by Black communities to light.
For our first Black History Month episode, we talk to Daphne Di Cinto, Screenwriter, Film Director, Actor, and Creative Writer. She is the director of the upcoming film Il Moro -The Moor. The true story of Alessandro de Medici. The son of an enslaved African woman and Pope Clement VII turns out to be the heir to the Medici dynasty and becomes the first Duke of Florence, despite his own family having trouble accepting him.
