As an event professional/planner, when planning to add vital social media to (your) events (environment), you can obviously mention, off the top of your head, a few tools coming up instantly as mandatory, great, needless to add for free (firstly and/or apart from further development)…
Taking a close look…:
1-Yes, you can use social media for events but you cannot use all of them.
2-Yes, you can use social media for events but you cannot exclude that it will be browsed by attendees, vendors and team, so think about what is helpful or not be forgotten.
3-Yes, you can use social media for events but you cannot forget about strategy, not a “4-year plan” meant to be “the unique plan” but simply keep in mind that, in essence, an event has a lifecycle, thus social media may facilitate your work…. not the other way around.
4-Yes, you can use social media for events but you cannot afford to ignore them, in other words “give it a try without them and see what is going on”. Wrong choice as competitors will do differently.
5-Yes, you can use social media for events but you cannot focus on days and prices only; think about bridges you can build between attendees, you and others.
6-Yes, you can use social media for events but you cannot ban a post-event plan; if you have been really well present online (before the event), think about feedback, reports and what your clients are on to.
7-Yes, you can use social media for events but you cannot neglect your website in terms of coherence, dynamism and showcase online; basically, it is your virtual signature.
8-Yes, you can use social media for events but you cannot cut the budget on dedicated team in charge and/or paid services that may allow you to enhance preparation.
9-Yes, you can use social media for events but you cannot leave behind accurate time, needed to get effective results.
10-Yes, you can use social media for events but you cannot imagine that “it is all done, now!” team reactivity, quality of content added to first-rate organization remain keys for successful events.
