Wearing curls and afrohair in its natural state is booming. More and more people are turning their backs on relaxers and proudly wear their hair natural. In 2012 the American vlogger Adeaa Rogers founded International Natural Hair Meetup Day (INHMD). A day when wearing natural hair is celebrated worldwide. This year, International Natural Hair Meetup Day is on Saturday May 30th. Amsterdam is particpating for the third time. Gisèle Cooper, owner of the shop is Shesells.nl is hosting the event with the theme “Healthy Hair & Skin from within.” The event takes place from 12:30 to 18 pm at the Paasheuvelweg in Amsterdam Southeast.
The program will include a Q&A session with natural hair bloggers, the workshops ‘Beauty from within’, ‘Colour Styling’, ‘African head massage’ , ‘Basic Haircare’and ‘Healthy Kids Hair’ interviews, an inspirational speech, hairstyle and headwrap demonstrations, an award for the visitor with the best hairstyle, photo shoots, goodie bags, a mini fair with haircare products, hair analysis, cosmetics, clothing, jewelry and much more.
