Why we love Nicole Crentsil
Co-founder of Black Girl Festival UK. The UK’s first Black British festival for women and girls is designed to celebrate and explore what it means to be a Black woman in the UK. A space for Black British women to see themselves within their local London community through a combination of the arts, music, culture, and conversation.
Black Girl Festival is a venture by Paula Akpan, co-founder of the ‘I’m Tired’ Project and social media coordinator for gal-dem, and Nicole Crentsil, founder of Unmasked Women. Both are passionate about celebrating and championing Black women and wanted to create a festival that showcases London’s talented creative community of Black British women.
Artists, panelists, workshop facilitators, musicians and poets for a day-long festival on Sunday 29th October as part of our British Black History Month celebrations. A marketplace, zine and art fair, and a food market as well as an area for the panels, workshops during the day and entertainment later in the evening. Free for all to attend.
