The project Africans in Norway is a historical project, which aims to document and present the history of the African presence in Norway during the period from 1600 to present. The project was initiated in response to the need to disseminate balanced information about the African Diaspora. The research work has three distinct, yet integrated outcomes; written material, exhibitions and a website.

Thanks for the tip Adrianne. Now if someone from the project could navigate international visitors through the N??rsk language text it would be a very useful historical resource for more people.
It appears that they are working on multi-lingual translations as I can barely work my way through the Norwegian language text with my German skills, just barely.
I wonder which African people were in contact with the Norwegians as early as 1600? North Africans from the Mediterranean and/or the “Blue Men” of Viking lore?
