A native New Yorker, Adrienne West began classical voice and piano study at age nine. She later began to combine some of the jazz she loved listening to at home with her classical studies. Now an internationally respected vocalist and actress, she performs in concerts, jazz festivals and clubs, as well as on TV and radio extensively throughout Europe and Africa in various formations from duo to big band. In addition to her performing, she also directs Masterclasses and Workshops for vocalists.

She continues to perform alongside some of the world???s most prominent musicians including: Johnny Griffin, Buddy Tate, Jerome Richardson, Marshall Royal, Scott Hamilton, George Robert, Al Cohn, Arnett Cobb, Harold Ashby, Bill Saxton, Teddy Edwards, Clark Terry, Joe Newman, Benny Bailey, Slide Hampton, Harry ???Sweets??? Edison, Wild Bill Davis, Kenny Burrell and Billy Cobham.

She has also performed and recorded with the WDR Radio Big Band ??? Koln, Germany; the Hessischer Rundfunk Big Band ??? Frankfurt, Germany; the NDR Radio Big Band ??? Hamburg, Germany and other big bands in Europe.

She appeared on Broadway in the Tony Award winning, ???Ain???t Misbehavin?????? and subsequently toured Europe for five years.



Adrienne makes her home in Amsterdam together with her husband, David Cameron, Choreographer/Director. Together they have written and produced ???ROYAL COURT??? ??? A THEATRICAL JAZZ TRIBUTE TO ???DUKE??? ELLINGTON and NAT ???KING??? COLE which was in production and on tour for the 2003/04 Netherlands theatre season. Another very special project conceived and performed by Adrienne and David is entitled, ???EVOLUTION??? which is an historical spiritual journey (from slavery to present day) through rhythms, spirituals, gospels (old and new), jazz, rap, the voice and dance.

In addition to performing, Adrienne conducts Masterclass Workshops ???MAKING THE CONNECTION???: Vocal Jazz (technique & performance); The Jazz Vocalist in Musical Theatre and The Classical Voice in Musical Theatre. She has conducted these workshops at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern, Switzerland, at the Universitat Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, The University of Capetown (UTC) in South Africa (as a special guest teacher at the 2004 South African Jazz Educators Conference) and at the Enschede Conservatory in Holland where she teaches both Jazz Vocals and Musical Theatre (Source).
