Sunday July 25 – 3:00 pm – Paris Jazz Festival
The title of Sandra’s current project, Mansaadi (“little mmama”), says it all. In this tribute to her late mother, this diva from Cameroun runs the gamut of human emotions, as seen through the prism of femininity. The term “diva” may not be fitting for someone who started out as an insecure teenager, but it rightly becomes the insightful actress (Sandra has a dozen films to her credit) and queenly vocalist who tackles jazz, soul and funk with equal ease, delivering sensuous snapshots of life with grace and boundless energy.
