CNN: The British media called it everything from a breach of protocol to an extraordinary show of affection from the queen.

The Times of London proclaimed it a “touching moment,” and the palace apparently agreed.

Buckingham Palace: “This was a mutual and spontaneous display of affection and appreciation between the queen and Michelle Obama”.

  1. I got a little emotional over the girls at the school hugging Michelle Obama. She is phenomenal. I think I like the idea of a black First Lady even more than that of a black president (though that might just be the Mama's Boy in me). When we are allowed to fulfill our potential, we ALWAYS go higher and farther.
