Caribbean Freedom: Honoring Bernie Grant & the struggles for liberation and reparation. It is 6 years since the untimely death of the Tottenham Labour MP Bernie Grant. Focusing on this passionate and plain-speaking Politian of the people, African Remembrance Day 2010 will stage a series of activities featuring speakers, music and discussions. The day will explore struggles for freedom and reparations that shaped Bernie Grants politics when growing up in Guyana and the impact this had on creating the politician he became. A champion for justice and equality Bernie Grants legacy will be championed and the memory of his work will be put into the context of what it means for social politics today.
